When your in laws are last minute people?
You get a email saying maybe we should draw names for gifts.
Well thats all fine and dandy but, you have all ready started. Buying or making the gifts you plan on giving.

This is what I would do...
If I had already made and/or bought a significant amount of gifts for that side of the family, I would tell them that it's a great idea for next year, but I was already half finished with the gifts for this year.
If I only had a couple ready for that side of the family, I would say that's a good idea, but I'd already started the gifts, and could I just have the people's names that I already had gifts for (a name for Brian and a name for you)

Or what if you saved the things you'd already begun for the coming birthdays throughout the year...? Then the things don't go to 'waste' and you have WAY LESS to do this year...oh man, that'd be nice, no?
