rambling about things

I have a few things to ask.
So are any of you doing something special for Valentines? We are going to a potluck with some other friends. I think Valentines is a very nice thing. I also think you should treat your partner like its valentines every day.
Saturday we have a date night planed we are going to Greek for dinner. Then who knows might go to the book store we like to walk around.

Alright strollers I really want a jogging stroller. Nolan and I need and want to take longer walks this spring. So what do you have if at any?

We are planing on planting a garden when do you all start ;yours? So far we have carrots , toms, herbs and corn planned. I think we are going to do cucumbers, beans, eggplant at my folks house.

nothing special planned here...our usual routine is to have dinner together with the kids, having them make or pick out a valentine card for joe and one for their dad (bleah!) etc. joe is supposed to have something for them for me....which usually happens. we are having a rough week this week! so i don't know yet how vday will play out. probably the same as usual, though. i agree you should treat your partner like every day is vday. easier said than done!

i had an AWESOME jogger when noah was a baby, my sisters and my parents went together on it. it was a yakima. i don't think they make them anymore, but mine was the purple beetle. MAN i loved that stroller! noah and i ran and walked HUNDREDS of miles with that puppy. when he got old enough to ride his bike, i sent it to a friend in phoenix, who is now loving it all the same.

anyway, i did a quick look as to what's out there on craig's list...these features were important to me: TALL handle because i'm taller than the average stroller pusher and i needed the handles UP THERE with me. you might not have that prob so much. also, there was a leash attached to the frame that i kept around my wrist at all times, because we did a LOT of hill work (abbey hill every day) and i wanted that safety strap on my arm in case i slipped and lost control....that stroller was so smooth, he would have ridden right down the hill at 60 mph as long as nothing got in his way! :/

also, for hill work, you need a hand brake, just like on bike handlebars. love the handbrakes, used them a lot.

i also liked that my beetle would fold almost completely flat in the trunk, with the occasional exception of having to pop out the front tire to make it all lie flat. not all joggers can do that or even fold at all. if you like to bike, look into the strollers that can be a bike trailer as well....

your uncle mark swears to not start a garden before memorial day weekend but peas need started before that. you can start most things before that and just know that if they get fried by frost, you can always replant. seeds are cheap. :)

herbs you can do just about anytime on your kitchen windowsill type spaces.

and mmmm i'm jealous, i haven't had greek food since the last date before i met fjoe! LOL

I think that for a jogger that you plan on walking with, just pick what price you want to pay and then buy whatever is in that price range. If you're willing to spend no more than 100, there are the Instep's and Schwinn (which i think might be made by the same company)...and people tend to like these just fine. You're not real tall, and you're most likely not going to be hauling it in your car very often, so this is probably a very good choice. If you want to spend 300 or so, there are plenty of great joggers such as the BOB...but these really are designed more with serious running in mind, so a cheaper model is very adaquate for walking. Check walmart's website for a good price on an Instep.
