what is so hard about it

Why can't people give a gift receipt really is it that hard? Now I'm stuck with junk I don't want or need. I guess it will go in the re gift box for later. Along those lines how hard is it to ask me what we need. Better yet what sort of things my son likes.
How about a gift card so we can pick out our own books.

I feel like such a fool going to 3 different stores. to see if it came from them ugh....

new years resolutions

Lets start this post with a cute picture of Nolan.










I haven't done any for a few years. So this year I'm going to make a small list of them 5-6. I like even numbers so it will more then likely be 4 or 6. some of them might not seem like much but that is ok. I will post them on the 31st or 1st still fine tuning them.

This odd winter weather has put me into a funk. Christmas just dose not feel like such a wonderful thing. We haven't been able to get out to see family. This is the first time I haven't spent the Holiday with family. I could go on with my list of don't haves but its not worth it.
Once I got over my pouting and took a look around. I noticed what we did have. Starting with each other. We got to watch Nolan open his gifts and play with them. We have a roof over our heads food in the house.

So no matter where you are spending this day of Celebration. Please take time to be thankful for what you have.

Wondering

So say you had the chance to move for a year or two. Where would you go?
I would love to live somewhere other then Oregon for a short time. Brian knows this about me sadly I don't think it will happen. Work could move us but that is very very slim to none chance.

I don't know where I would want to move. M aybe the eastcoast Maine, Road Island any where would be fine.

toddlers

Why do they test you so? Today is just one of those day's when Nolan test's every thing. I tell him no or don't touch it just goes in one ear out the other. We don't beleave in spanking more Brian then me. So I'm at my wits end with a child who doesn't listen to me. End of vent sorry

ok on to more fun toddler stuff. I want to do some crafts with him. Shalisa and Kristi where do you get your ideas? How well will with this go over should I wait until 20 months?

Twilight

I had some time away this afternoon. I spent my time at the movies watching Twilight. The movie was alright nothing to write home about. Maybe I feel this way since I didn't love the book. I thought the book's were ok nothing super.I read all four because they were a easy read and I like to finish things.


I got to see the baby today not the best picture. We couldn't get the heart beat to come up. So they did a heartbeat check with the Ultra sound. Since the clinic was very busy we used the in office one.

Jan 22nd is my next apt 6 weeks from now we just moved it. That way we can do a ultra sound find out babies sex at the same time.

ideas

I want to do charitable gifts this year.So if you have a site/charity you love please let me know. I have Heifer international on my list. I have 10-20 per person to spend.


Once I get that taken care of my Christmas shopping well be done. I could do some sewing if I have the time.

Our Thanksgiving was good a little crazy with the dinner time being bumped up.
Friday Brian went to the sock sale at Fred's for me. Then we hit up down town Hillsboro and walked around. the little wooden toy story was having a sale so we got Nolan a few things. Which Grandma will be buying off of us. I'm done with his Birthday gifts also for the year.

Home

We are home from Las Vegas tired with money in our pockets. The whole reason for the trip was to see Justin and Jenn get married. The wedding was very sweet and little. Brian and I were the only non family members. The hotel TI is very nice the food was to die for.
We didn't do a whole lot since we don't gamble or drink. We did play the slots once lost 3 dollars okay with that.
We ended up making 15$ each while there. Since we had no pressing plans we watched a tv pilot. the show stank but hey we got money to tell them that.
We also hit up the bakery JJ Boulangerie in The Paris Hotel. They have to melt in your mouth goodies. We ate there 2 years ago for R's wedding.


I don't think we will ever hit up Vegas again. That city is just not for us.

Now I would love to see a Cirque du soleil show but those cost too much. I will have to wait for them to come back to OR.

wasting time

Right now Nolan is napping and instead of packing. I'm writing a post while watching tivo. We take off for Vegas tomorrow morning for out 1pm flight. My mom is driving us and having Nolan for two nights. I am looking forward to seeing Jen and Justin get married. OH and Cake for some reason that just sounds super good.
We talked about seeing a show while there I hope so. I know its a little more then we can spend right now. The only way we are able to go is we got flight vouchers. Found a hotel for 33 a night so not bad at all.

Saturday Brian and I will be married for 5 years. Time has just flown by I can't believe how fast.

playdates

I need to find a play group ours stopped meeting. Nolan and I are not getting out of the house enough. this is making us both cranky and turn to movies way too much.

I don't know where to start looking. I would do book babies but 9 am is a little too early for us. he wakes up around 8:15 then breakfast. That would be cutting it much too close.
There is a huge play place up the street with blow up things. It cost 5 bucks each time and well i'm cheap. I don't mind once a month or so but not every couple days.

I'm at my wits end to be honest. Since the weather has gone down hill we don't play outside. So we don't see any of our mommy friends.


starting to fall into the dislike being a stay at home mom rut again.

Toddler

For whatever reason Nolan is just pushing my buttons today. I don't know why this day is any different. Maybe I'm expecting too much from him. Oh well its just all part of life.


Baby news I'm doing better keeping food down. Looks like I will not be throwing up for 5 months this time.

Christmas list

This is a list of things I need to do. Some items like the food stuff will be done in Dec. Others I need to start busting out tomorrow. Right I need to have Brian take a look at my sewing machine. along with get my power cord for the surger back.

project

One of my mother in laws students is doing her senior project. On my pregnancy because she wants to be a L&D nurse. I just email her info every so often. Which is really easy this is what she wrote me.



My main goal for this project is to learn more about pregnancy, and having a baby in general. I don't need any personal information, I don't need to use your real names, or anything like that. I don't need to be there for your delivery or anything. What would be really helpful, is if you could email me every other week, once a month, or as often as you'd like to.. and just explain how you're feeling, if you have morning sickness, certain cravings, mood swings, any doctors appointments (I don't need to know any results for anything..) or anything like that.. that would be extremely helpful. I would greatly appreciate it if you wanted to share about your pregnancy with a complete stranger like me, but I want to make it as comfortable for you as possible. Just let me know if you would like to help me out with this project.

8 weeks

Tomorrow Brian heads back to work. After having 8 weeks off which didn't fly by. So I was thinking of the things we did. Below is a list not really in order.

Walt Disney World 8 days
Nolan's first hair cut in Disney.
Dog Park 3 times. Yes we take our child he loves it.

Well that is all I can think of at the moment.

Nolan and I are going to miss Brian tomorrow. I'm glad to have life get back to normal or sort of.

changes

I was offered a job today out of the blue. A friend called me and asked if I want to do skin care. At the clinic she works at an hour later I was chatting with the owner. I drove home and talked to Brian looks like every thing is a go. I need T line up childcare for Nolan 3 days a week. The clinic is going to buy my product and has a table i can use.
This is a total blessing from the Lord. I had been thinking of getting a Christmas job. This would be so much more using my schooling. Putting my love of skincare to use making more then min wage.



OH and for those that don't know. Nolan will be a big brother in June. We got more then we paid for in Disney wink wink.

My ballot came in the mail today. So I cracked open the voters guide during nap time. After doing some thinking and reading. I have made the choice to vote third party this year. I feel that we need more of a change then what others are offering. Plus I can't stomach McCain or Palin I want to punch the tv. When ever they are on it. I'm pretty sure Obama will win and I'm fine with that. I just feel my heart leading me another way.



This will be the only time I step into politics. seeing how I rather dislike them.

Well I'm another year older. Friday was my 30th birthday which was uneventful as it passed. We didn't do much sadly I had wanted to have a dinner party. Oh well next year we can have a big to do.



Nolan told us tonight he needed to use the potty. So we put him on the chair and he peed and pooped. I have hope that we can get this down in a few months.

change

I love the weather change. This is my favorite season with all the colors and smells.We plan on making a pumpkin patch trip in the next week or so. I can't wait to see what Nolan thinks about it.

up date

Ok Still haven't heard anything from TSA. Since it was his work computer there is not a whole lot we can do. He knows he shouldn't have packed it but it was 5 am. So he wasn't thinking super clear at the time.
Now my Hard drive is dead so I will not be around much. Brian is going to put a new one in the next few days. I can get on line with the Wii but that is annoying.


Going to be 30 in a few weeks not sure how I feel about that.

7 weeks

Brian will be around for the next 7 weeks. I have no idea what I'm going to do during this time.

His laptop is still missing Stupid TSA. Because of this he is grumpy and I can't take it.

We bought paint for the office this morning a bluish gray. I will post some pictures when we get it all done. The flooring is sitting in our garage waiting to be put in.


In November we are heading to Las Vegas for a wedding. We got bumped from our flight to Florida.So we have free flight vouchers that we will be using. While we are there I'm hoping we can see a Circ Du Solei show.

we made it home after a long day. We have dinner in the oven and clothes in the wash. Disney World was fun and long. Nolan did good for his age.

I just picked a fight with my friend for no good reason. Not really sure what came over me. I called left a message and emailed her. to say I'm so sorry for being a bitch. Hope everything gets cleared up this would be a crappy way to leave a friendship.

The BBQ should be lots of fun they are having it catered.

This weekend we are having a garage sale with a friend. I'm hope we do better then the last one. I have more item bigger items in this one.
How much should I ask for a car seat stroller set? 1 year old very lightly used its not mine its a friends.
I'm getting rid of some of our baby stuff. Because we will not be using it with the next. Speaking of which I think after Disney the fun will start.

Air show

The Hillsboro air show is going on right now. The jets fly right over our house making Nolan scream. So every times this happens he snuggles for safety. That made our walk up the street a little difficult.
Today we hit up our farmers market and got some cherries and corn. I can't wait to BBQ the corn tomorrow with our turkey burgers.


Disney is getting closer we got luggage tags in the mail the other day. I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to this family vacation.

Brian brought up maybe heading to Canada after Walt Disney World. We are trying to fill his 8 weeks off with fun things. I am hoping to get lots of fun pictures of everything we do.

tonight for dinner

we are having grilled shrimp with peanut sauce. I love this sauce it's great on any thing. Last time I made tai chicken roll ups with it. Those were great also so light and tasty.

3tbs creamy pb
2 garlic cloves
2 Tbs soy sauce i use the light low sodium stuff
4 t sugar, honey or splenda
1 tbs water
1 1/4 t rice wine vinegar
1 TBS dry cilantro

blend the pb and garlic after smooth. Add all the other items blend and serve. I bet it would be good with chile flakes if you like more heat.

Blueberry lemonade recipe

3 qts strawberry or blueberry juice

says 3 qts bottled lemon juice

6 c sugar

4 qts water

heat together, stirring until sugar dissolves.Heat but do not boil. Pour into hot jars leaving 1/2" headroom. Boil in water bath 15 minutes

yield is 9 qts

I love berry picking

Today I went picking while my mom watched Nolan. I enjoyed my time eating and picking.
I got raspberries, blueberries and marionberries all .99 a pound. I plan on going back next week to get more blueberries. I found a recipe for blueberry lemonade concentrate that you can. I will be giving that a try.

I think we are going to take Nolan to the Washington county fair this weekend. I bet he will love the animals while I enjoy a elephant ear.

Nolan outside enjoying the late eve weather. I look at him and he is not my little baby any more. I still find it hard to believe he is mine some times. He is chatting up a storm now trying to walk not a baby thats for sure.

weekend plans

We were going to head to Shelton Ryan's Birthday. Sadly Intel and the chicken pox's changed our plan's. A part Brian is working on is coming in tonight. So this means he will be working Saturday. I could go to Shelton on my own but um Nolan has pox's. This makes traveling to visit a little hard. Shalisa would love for miss Maddie to get the pox's its just a matter of the other parents.
So instead Nolan is going to have a pox party at our house. The invite list is mostly kids from our play group along with their friends.

We will be heading up to Shelton the 5th of July. I hope to see Kristi and the boy's while were are there.

I think Nolan might have Chicken Pox. I found a blister behind his ear and then some in the diaper area. They look like the blisters Brian had with Shingles. That and Saturday and Sunday he was super crabby. he has had a runny nose for a week we thought it was a cold. This might throw off our weekend plans ugh. We have a Dr appointment on Wed for his 1 year check up.

Today while at Sarah's Graduation from PSU. I saw and stalked Jael from ANTM Cycle 8. Yes I know its not the best picture. I was too scared lazy to walk up to her to get one. OH well that's how things go.
Sarah's graduation was long I did really enjoy the speaker.Richard Pimentel who happens to be a prof at PSU. He has a movie based on his life out called Music Within.
After Sarah walked and I stalked Jael we went to lunch at the screen door. Where I had fried Chicken and Waffles for the very first time. OH my gosh they were so big as you can see.
I will be taking Brian there for a date soon.The waffle was made out of sweet potato which was to die for. The chicken was spicy and very crispy. I wanted Grits sadly that didn't happen but next time for sure.

I also made Bagels this morning from the wild yeast blog. They turned out really great the boys love them. I think we will make those again soon.


oh and Jael sorry I didn't ask you for your picture. Next time I run into you I will.

Should we add to our family sooner rather then later?

So I couldn't recall when my last period was sorry tmi. this got me thinking maybe we should start now.

I did finally get things worked out plus the pee sticks both said no.

Lets see Saturday I got some new fabric. I got 5 yards of supper soft Bamboo fabric. Two yards of it are Terry the other three are valour.
Now I need to get a walking foot so I can do a little sewing. I plan on making some nursing pads, a few prefolds and maybe some wipes. I might dye some of the prefolds or flatfolds. Bamboo dyes up wonderful.


I need to make a list of things we are going to do while Brian is off.
For starter Sep 7-15 we will be at Walt Disney World. We will be spending a few days with the Smiths.
Brian wants to go camping so we will do that later in the month. In October we want to get away just the two of us. I don't know where or when that will happen. I think it will be a Birthday wedding anniversary thing.
I would like to make it up to a Girls craft night also at the Smith's. Maybe this summer Nolan and I can come visit. That way we can see Kristi and Shalisa at the same time.

I have been thinking of going back to Sephora. To tell you the truth my heart is just not in it i have started enjoying my time at home. Maybe I will look for a little Christmas job who knows.

Brian great Aunt passed in her sleep on Wednesday. She has been going down hill for a few years. She is now with her husband in heaven where she is whole.

I'm not really sad since I can count on one hand how many times we visited with her. I never really got to know her.

Random sorry

Ok first off can I plant a sprouted potato would that work? The reason I ask is well there are two sitting on my kitchen counter. I am so bad sometimes and if it can be saved then woot.

Second Ladies do you want to plan a craft weekend/ night. I need to do some sewing and would love to visit/ "gossip". No not really gossip but you know what I mean right. So not to invite myself up but well. I can bring my snap press and snaps. I could also bring my husband and son if need be. Maybe the boys can play look at your calenders and let me know.

Also some time you should come down for 2 dollar Tuesday at the zoo.


Last but not least Nolan got this toy puppy. I can't stand it oh my gosh the thing is supper touchy. The only good thing about it is the off button. "learning toy" blah learning to push button is about all it teaches.

high points

The three high points of this weekend. First would have to be New car. We were blessed with finding a great deal. They even gave us more for a trade in then I thought.
Second would have to be the great thunder and lighting storm we had last night. For some reason I just love those kinds of storms.
Third is Brian making waffles for dinner. For whatever reason they just taste the best when he makes them.

Monday

Today Nolan and I took a 1.5 hour hike with our friends. The hike was really nice we got to see a Owl. Amy and I chatted the boys both fell asleep while we walked.

Not much has been going on just getting life in order.

Here he is on a fire truck from the house burn. Aunt Tami and Farmer Joe had a house burn. A really nasty house on the land they just bought. So the Fire fighters came out and did a burn. we got some really fun pictures.

Well I don't really have anything to say. Life has been going pretty good if not a little slow.
Saturday Nolan turns 1 can you believe it? Time has gone by so fast. Last year at this time I was laboring a little bit. contractions has started they were off and on all day.

Ok Bread makers of the world. Do you use wild yeast for your sour dough starters? If so how do you go about doing that?
Also what is your favorite website/ book for bread making? While we are at it what kinds of bread do you make?

Growing

So what are you growing this season?
we have planted in our two garden box's
peas, carrots, eggplant, tomatoes three different kinds. cucumbers, basil, and parsley. I should add that every thing but the peas and carrots have been started. I'm waiting to plant those on a nice sunny day.

At the in laws we have raspberry's, rhubarb corn, squash and more tom's. oh I think they might do a pepper plant as well this year.

I have been toying with using dry beans not the canned type. Also I want to try lentils anyone have a good recipe? I have also been toying with making our own bread. I know it would be better for us and cheaper.

My goal is to have the family eat better. This makes it easier for me to reach my goal of losing 30 more lbs. By my 30th birthday that way we can get started on baby #2. I am down almost 13 lbs the last two weeks have been bad. I think part of it is lack of support in person. Oh well that is a story for another time.



So Shalisa where did you find the tortilla recipe? that sounds like a good idea to make your own.

Tuesday

Since Nolan is taking a nice long nap I will do a little up dating.
WDW is planed our flight is booked. I called to change around our dates for the trip. All of our dining is booked for sit down dinners.

I will be mailing out Birthday invites today after nap time. Nolan and I have a play date at 1 which is by the post office. OH sounds like he is waking up so I will finish this later today.

Nolan loved the pool in California. We had a nice visit I'm very happy to be home.
I went to Disney on Tursday that was fun. Ryan you would be so proud my first ride of the day was Jungle Cruise.

Nolan enjoyed Disney as well. He and Grandma went on a few rides. We got there early left early for nap then headed back in the eve. Nolan did really well on the trip. He rolled with the punches he is a real trooper.

Birthday

Alright since planing Nolan's party has become drama. I think we are going to have a family lunch on the 11th. For those of you not counting that is Mothers Day. Woot I can't wait to spend it with the inlaws and crazy Grandma.

So for our friends we are going to do a lunch thing on the 17th. I will have the invites out in the next day or so. I was kind of thinking we could meet somewhere. I don't have all the details worked out just yet. I really liked what Ryan and Shalisa did for Maddies Birthday.


ugh oh well it will work out.

Tomorrow Nolan and I are flying to California to visit my dad's family. They live in southern Cali we are talking LA area. The visit should be nice i hope.

Last night date night

We had a date last night which was fun. So for our date we went and drove some cars did a little shopping. We headed to toysrs got Nolan some toys for our flight to Cali on Thursday.

Thanks to Ryan I have Disney on the brain. I can't wait for our trip it is going to be so much fun.

growing up too fast

Nolan has learned to climb the stairs. Looks like it is time to get a gate for the bottom of the stairs. We already have at the top of them because of doing laundry and such.

off my game

I had to call B to come home early today. The reason was I started having dizzy spells and not feeling normal. I was very close to blacking out just before he got home. Not really sure what the problem is my head is still feeling a little off.

Weekend plans

This weekend we are going to work on our yard. For the last month B has been removing the grass from the front yard. The reason it has taken a month is well the weather rain, snow you know normal spring stuff. Our plan is to lay bark and some pavers where the lawn use to be. Also we are going to plant some new flowers make the whole thing look spiffy.
I think we are also going to hit up Ikea and get a new love seat to replace the blue thing.
Sunday we are going to the parents for lunch. I think we will also go to Evergreen for service give it a 2nd try.

I hope to get Nolan's pictures taken next week.

some funny title

Lets see I have been racking my brain for something to write. We got our garden box supplies B will build that this weekend. I hope to plant our seeds for starters in a few day's.

Lets see B got a 16% ra ise and promotion this is his third in 3 years. This means that no I really don't have to work. I would still like to find something outside the house todo.

Sunday we went back to Evergreen that was nice. I really enjoyed the worship the lesson was good. The youth pastor spoke which I enjoyed he was very out going. He made me think of Miles in a few ways. Miles was my Jr high pastor when I was 12 then ten years later I was a leader for him. Miles married Brian and I he has a special place in my heart. When I was in Jr high I was a little scared of Miles he was loud, big and crazy.

B has been gone all day he is not due for another 2 hours. N and mommy are having a hard day things started out way too early. I'm thinking of going making a trip out for dinner this will make us both feel better. N will have people to watch and I will get to leave the house.

I am feeling better about being a stay at home mom. I have been working on being at peace. Part of it might be that for every job I interview for nothing comes of it.
Maybe I am meant to be a stay at home mom.

I think Spring might be here!

Our Seattle trip was good had a nice time visiting friends.

Lets see so today was the first time in 11 days that I had to change a poopy diaper. yes you read that right no poop for me. Nolan has been going poop in the pooty do you know how great that is? I love not having to wash or throw out poop filled diapers.
EC is going pretty well we are not supper strict with it. Just taking things at a Nolan pace.

I have had a few things on my mind and heart to write about. Maybe this week I will get them out. One of them has been bugging me for months. The only reason I have not talked about it is. I don't want people to feel I am picking on them. Which is not the case at all.

We got the invite for Nolan's birthday lastnight. I was going to make them but sadly with time and lazyness it is not going to happen. For what ever reason my drive has been lacking.
Our tax money should be coming in soon. You know it pays to have a kid and house thats for sure. We will be paying off my car with a little extra left over. That will go for a down payment for a new car for me. The forrester is will on its last legs. We are looking into a CRV no mini van for this family. I made a promise to Brian that I would never make him drive one.

We are home got in at 11:30 last night. We all wanted to sleep in our beds the drive home was a little hard.

so I left my camera in the room its being shipped home. I will update more later now its shower time.

Seattle day 2 and part of 3

Our trip is going really well things couldn't be better. Nolan is napping so I'm sitting out in the hallway writing this. The sleep thing has been a little hard. With us all in one room makes for early nights. We brought the pack n play from Grandmas house he naps in it. At night he sleeps with me which means I don't sleep so well.

Yesterday we went to the Woodland zoo that was fun. They have a kids area so they can run around and play. Nolan loved that he was crawling all over the place with a huge smile on his face. They also have a nice indoor wooden carousel that we rode. The Graffias were being feed at the same time we were at their pen.So we spent a few moments talking to the keeper.
We spent a good 4 hours at the zoo so after we were all ready for a nap.

Then we went to Jen's for dinner got a little lost on the way. That would be my fault my note taking was not the best. It was fun seeing Jen and family I even got to hold the newest member he is so little and sweet. Her older boy is cute with all his hair 2 year olds are crazy and fun. I can't wait for Nolan to talk like that and run around.

We have been doing a lot of walking so far which has been nice. After Nolan wakes up we are heading down town to do a little shopping.
Our plan is to also see the Aquarium we will see how Nolan is doing.
I haven't taken any pictures but Brian has so I will post some when we get back.
Nolan has been a real trooper just hanging out in the Beco while mom and dad drag him around. We have been trying to let him out so he can crawl around get some of that energy out.

Day 1 Seattle

Nolan did really great on the drive. He slept for the most of the way which worked out really great. Things are going good just having a low key day. We did a bit of walking around after checking in. I think we are going to watch a movie and then put nolan down. I'm not sure how sleeping is going to go with us all in one room.

Sunday

Easter was good for the most part. I got to enjoy family two day's in a row woot. yes that is sarcasm because I love Brian's Grandma. Ugh the woman loves to tell me how to raise my child. Yes she is 92 and maybe a little crazy but still. Do you really have to point out my choices that you don't agree with to everyone.

My feelings have been a little hurt no on purpose. I made a error in judement and took some thing personal. I shouldn't have and I am sorry.
I know most of it steams from not knowing what to do with my life. Not sure how much longer I have do this stay at home thing. Don't get me wrong I love my son more then anything. I just can't handle not talking to adults or using me brain.

I did find a mommy group and went to it this week. I had a blast that was helpful.
we are talking about finding a new church. for a few weeks we were visiting Sarah's sadly its not for us. I will miss seeing Sarah more regular.

So having a mobile child is crazy. Nolan pulled the tv trays down on himself just for starters. He has learned to pull himself up on anything and every thing. I can't turn my back for a moment. I do have to say its so cute to see him standing and "playing."
We have one of those big play yard things so the kitchen and hall way are blocked off. Poor cats they don't really get the whole baby gate thing. We have not so smart kitties guess that happens when they are inbreed.

I had a interview with whole food last night. I don't think much will come of it.

Fun idea

Yesterday at play group one of the mama's. Told me about a photo book she made her little girl. She made on of all the family members with there names. I love this idea so this summer I'm going to make one. She also has one for going out and about.
There are pictures of Target and places you go daily. That way they can look at the book and see where they are going. I think this is also a great idea gets the little one involved with running around.
Play group is nice Nolan is the youngest but still has fun. He is still cruising on the couch and end tables. The other night he took a nasty fall poor guy. We are still fighting that cold so he is a little cranky.

Mail

Nolan got mail today a package from Aunt Jana. She sent him some baby cookies they are really cute.
Nolan has chosen that naps are not for him. ugh this is making mommy grumpy oh well. So he learned a new trick and pulls himself up on his crib.

This post is going to turn into a little mismash of info.

So I have hit a 10 lb road block. For whatever reason I have lost some drive on the weight loss train.

Weekend

Once again this weekend we will be driving all over. Last weekend we spent a fair amount of time driving all over Portland. Saturday we went to see the Great grandparents in Silverton an hour drive from us. Then Sunday it was off to see both sets of Grandparents. On the East side of town a 45 min drive. Needless to say napping last weekend was not so great.
Tomorrow we have a Birthday party for Chloe who is turning 1 years old. We get to drive to Gresham about 30 mins from our house.
Then Sunday we are heading over to Milwaukie to see B's folks. Since they will be gone during Easter since it is Spring break. B's mom is a High school teacher so for spring break they go to Palm Springs. Also I guess they need B's help ordering a Laptop for Jana. I don't ask it makes my head hurt some times.
So looks like we will get to have a craptastic nap weekend . On top of it Nolan has a cold so he is stuffed up and waking up every couple hours. ugh I need to head to bed so I can be nice this weekend.

i have pain

The sore truth I have Dequervain's Tenosynovitis in my left wrist, thumb. So today I got the joy of getting a Cortisone injection. They numb the area with a shot of cold liquid so odd. Then give the injection you can feel the pressure. I should be taking it easy since my wrist thumb is throbing.

travel plans with a little rambling.

March 26-29 or 30th Seattle and Shelton Washington. I booked our hotel for Seattle we are checking out Saturday. Then heading down to visit in Shelton we might stay the night not sure just yet. I would like to see Kristi, Justin and the boys maybe we could go to church Sunday. We will have to see how Nolan is doing that and if the Smiths really want to host us. I know Ryan and Shalisa said we can come I just don't want to get in the way. Yes I am funny that way :)
Then April 24th-27 Nolan and I are going to Californian to see my Dads side of the family. We are meeting my mom down there so that should be fun. I am hoping to hit up Disney since it has been 3 years since my last visit.

September 17th - ? New England none of this is set in stone just yet. Brian has gotten the ok from work. He is off Sep 5th to Nov 3rd ahhhh that is so crazy to write.

I love Intel they sure have treated us great. Granted I do bitch about him working crazy amounts of over time.

For those of you that sew where do you buy your fabric? I want to make some wipes for a baby shower gift. I am on the hunt for a cute girlish print. Joannes is not cutting it right now for me. I have some Amy Butler coming in a few months thank you coop.
Oh I found bamboo fabric here in town it is so soft. Sadly they didn't have bamboo velour. I did get some Organic cotton Velour which is really soft also. I have a fabric problem the office has a over flow of it right now. I need to work on some projects so I can feel better about buying more.

things are falling into place.

This fall Sep / Oct we are heading to New England as a family. Every 7 years Intel gives you 8 weeks off paid so we are using 3 weeks of it to travel. For those of you that have been to New England what did you like best ?
Please give me tips on what you liked and did. Also this will be our biggest trip with Nolan so any travel tips with a toddler are welcome.

We are going to visit Maine, Vermont and New hampshire. I have started looking up things to do they have apple festivals. Those look fun and are free/ cheap not sure what else just yet.

To those that have over supply Donate your milk. There are plenty of mom's that would love the help. There Milk banks also Milk share is a great way. That way you can try to hook up with local moms.

With our next baby if we have the same supply issues. I will be going to milk share and or the bank. I tried joining the yahoo group but I didn't fit the needs.

Ideas

Alright so This fall we plan on taking Brian's sabbatical. At first we were thinking the east coast. I'm not sure if a 16/17 month old would enjoy that.
So I am asking you my readers please give me some ideas. Where should my family go for 2-3 weeks.
Has to be toddler friendly so Vegas is out. Disney is good but I think we will take him when he is a little older. We are not huge fans of super hot weather for we get cranky & snippy. A aunt/grandma might come with us if that helps.

Trip

We are heading up to Seattle the end of March/first of April.
I haven't worked out all the details just yet. We would like to stop by Shelton while heading up or back.
Also Jenn Maybe we could meet up see the new baby. Who knows how all of you will be doing.
So far our plans are to hit up the woodland zoo maybe the Aquarium and Pike street market.

Oh Nolan went potty in his little chair. I gave him a book to look at so he wouldn't scream it worked.

Woes

The last few nights Nolan has been waking up screaming. Some nights we can get him back down pretty fast. I know this is just how things go so no reason to complain.

I used a little baking soda to clean up a stain yesterday. Now I think it bleached my carpet is that even possible?

We are having a Off week for EC like I said he screams. When ever we sit him on his little potty chair. My wrist can't take holding him over the toilet. I guess its time to break down and get a seat for the toilet.

For those of you that CD I'm in the market for a few new diapers. Spam we with the ones you like. I sold off our BG v2.0 and our Blueberry minkys OS. The Aplix was rubbing Nolan's tummy.

Do any of you have a pattern for perfitted's this is a per fold made into a fitted? Last year I got a Kam snap press so I am itching to put snaps on something.

I have a few moments now

Nolan is down for a nap thank goodness. So I went outside and did a little weeding in the sunshine. He is still taking a nap thank goodness he needs the sleep. The last few days have been super cranky ugh.
I found a little potty chair on craigs list for $10. This is the one I got in black we have put Nolan on it. He screams so I guess he is not a huge fan of his potty. When we sit him on the big toilet he is fine.
Saturday we got to see the Smiths for Madeleine's birthday. It was really great seeing them sadly I didn't get to hold Annora. Thats ok there is always next time guess we will have to visit. We did have a first we took Nolan on the carousel he loved it.

What is EC

EC stands for Elimination Communication, also known as Natural Infant Hygiene or Infant Potty Training. It's a wonderful way to respond to a baby's natural instincts to stay clean and dry. EC reduces diaper use, reduces diaper rash, can lead to earlier potty independence, and so much more.

Babies are BORN potty trained! Just like other animals, human infants instinctively avoid urinating and defecating on themselves. Why do you think babies go during diaper changes? It's not the rush of cold air like others will tell you -- our babies are simply (and smartly!) taking the opportunity to relieve themselves without having to sit in it! After just a few months of full time diapering, our babies are trained to ignore their natural instinct, and instead of preferring to be clean and dry, they are trained to pee and poop into their diapers.

today I took a walk

Alright so EC is going alright yesterday I caught two pees. Today we got one so far I'm just doing the ones after naps. I have been watching him to see what signs come with this. He has no problem sitting on the potty in fact he smiles and bounces. the bouncing is a bit of a problem because he moves above the bowl.

I am still toying with the idea of getting a part time job. Right now I am just keeping my eyes open.
Today Nolan and I took a walk to our neighborhood coffee shop about a half a mile. The walk was really nice even if we did get rained on. At the shop I chatted with Amy one of the owners. She told me about a mommy group that meet there twice a month. They have it after the store is closed. I will be going to the next one I can't wait.

We took Nolan to the zoo for the first time today. He had a blast watching all the bigger kids running around. I wore him in the beco for two hours that worked pretty well.

Last night Brian and I had our date. We had Greek cafe for dinner which was very good. After dinner we did a little shopping at the outdoor mall across the street.
First stop was Baby Gap to get Nolan a few new shirts. While there we picked up a baby shower gift for a friend. I had fun drolling over all the little girl clothes. I told Brian that Nolan needs more boy friends. All of our friends have little girls guess he will just be a ladies man.
Then we stopped by REI to look at what was on the winter clearance.

On the way home we swung by Fred's to pick out some dessert. While at Fred's they had all of the gardening supplies on sale so we got some seeds.
We had a nice night with our dessert we watched a little Tivoed tv and talked.

Brian's at work so it just Nolan and I for who knows how long. I am thinking of ordering Pizza for dinner.

Have you made your partner feel loved today?
So Brian came home at lunch time to surprise me. In fact I hadn't yet showered oops. He brought flowers what a great surprise. Last time he gave me flowers was?. Last night he gave me a book I have been wanting for a while. What a nice sweet husband I have he is the best partner. Tonight we are going over to some friends for dinner. Saturday we have a date night planed of greek food. If we are feeling crazy we might get some tea/coffee.

rambling about things

I have a few things to ask.
So are any of you doing something special for Valentines? We are going to a potluck with some other friends. I think Valentines is a very nice thing. I also think you should treat your partner like its valentines every day.
Saturday we have a date night planed we are going to Greek for dinner. Then who knows might go to the book store we like to walk around.

Alright strollers I really want a jogging stroller. Nolan and I need and want to take longer walks this spring. So what do you have if at any?



We are planing on planting a garden when do you all start ;yours? So far we have carrots , toms, herbs and corn planned. I think we are going to do cucumbers, beans, eggplant at my folks house.

I am so sorry about not finishing my post about Toys. Last week was crazy with Nolan crawling.
I have most of it written well in my head that is. One night this week after Nolan's in bed I will get it all down.


WW has been going good last week I was down 4.2 lbs. I have my weight in at 7 so we will see how this week went. I know that with PMS things were a little out of control.

I have been planing out our weeks menus using some WW cook books. this has been helping a lot because I don't have to worry as much.

Nolan and I are having a slow morning. He is being a cute little guy in his cloth.
So on the crawling front he drags himself every where. He is really moving and eating all the fuzz. I can't believe my baby is 3/4 of a year old. Time goes by so fast we are going to have a BBQ for his 1st Birthday.

Thank You Every one who left comments about my diapering. We have been using a few cloth diapers these last two days. The love is not 100% back but, it is a start.

fun fact

I neglect my child, did you know that? Yes, you read that right! Why shouldn't I be honest and up front about it.

You are all wondering how do you neglect your child? Let me answer that question for you. This is how: by playing with him on the floor. We spend most of our day playing with Nolan's non-noisy "educational" toys. Yes, by not buying my child every toy out on the market I am neglecting him.
wow Brian and I sure have this parenting thing all wrong. Here we thought it was best for me to be a SAHM and play with our child. Boy we are going to have one messed up kid when he gets older.

Now, I have been blessed to be a SAHM. I know there are plenty of parents who care and love there children who work. This is in no way looking down on them.

Losing that loving feeling

Time to be honest with all of you. I am in a diaper funk let me explain . We cloth diaper and for the last week my son has been in paper diapers. I don't know why this has happened we have a nice stash. In fact I just made a trade for a Blueberry minky os pocket. Let me tell you this things is so soft I could just pet it all day.
Part of the problem could be that Nolan has started acting out during changes. He bucks and moves around its a real struggle to snap a diaper. The other thing could be I have no CD loving friends in town am all alone in my fluff love.

I have even thought about selling off my stash. Please tell me this will pass and selling the stash is not the answer.

The truth will set you free.

Where should I start oh right how about here.

I think its sad you believe the lies told by someone you have never met.

Lets see Milestones for Nolan he is cutting his top teeth. which has really been a huge pain. he is so close to crawling its not even funny. Also he has been trying to pull himself up on things. so maybe he will be skipping crawling who really knows.
Oh last night Nolan slept the whole night in his own bed. We have been slowly moving him over. Infact he slept from 9:30-7:50 am this is great news. He as been sleeping the whole night for a couple weeks. Just not in his own bed.

My First day of WW was hard but I made it. I can do this and I will do this. I have a goal that will be made.

so there as been a little talk about baby number 2. Things are on the back burner for now. come Aug or Sept they will be moved back up.

So Ryan called me yesterday with some wonderful news. their little girl was born early Tuesday morning. I am so happy for all of them. Ryan said that Shalisa and Baby are both doing good.

Sad

I have been un friended for no reason that I can think of. How sad is that? I wrote her a email and have yet to hear back. yes people grow apart and change still it would be nice to hear a reason.

Also on the sadness issue I have been really missing having a church family. My heart has been aching. We went and visited a church the other Sunday I liked it. The Church is much smaller then i am use to. That is no huge deal. The teaching was good and the people were all very nice and friendly.
Nolan liked the nursery I think the workers took to him just as well. We are headed back tomorrow need to give it a few tries.

Ok well i am going to do some reading before bed.

oh you know life

Monday I am rejoining WW they have a mommy and me time. I hope to do better this time around. I have this really bad habit of getting lazy after 10-15 lbs.

They found the car and driver that killed Rebecca. Things are moving along for that with charges and such.
